Chapter one!
Chapter two!
“Aoi?”
“Yeah.” Aoi mumbled, pen in between his lips while his eyes scanned the textbook.
“Can I get you something from the grocery shop?” Uruha asked sweetly, his head peeking from behind the wall into Aoi’s bedroom.
Aoi noticed how Uruha had put on his shoes, his coat and a hat already.
“Uhm, no I’m good…thanks though.” Aoi chuckled,
Uruha looked somewhat disappointed as he took off his hat and started going to the living room again.
“Hey, Uruha? You can go out if you want to, we’ve been sitting here for the last two days already. I don’t expect you to just sit here all day long too just because I’ve got to study.”
“You want me to go?” Uruha asked with surprise in his voice.
“Not go as in leave, just, you can take a walk if you want to, or you can go and buy something for yourself.”
Uruha seemed in deep thought about that for a moment before he practically bounced up and down and put on his hat again.
“Okay, thanks.” He smiled, darting off into the direction of the door again.
“Uhm.” A sudden jolt of worry erupted into Aoi’s body and he quickly jumped off of his bed, dropping several textbooks while he was at it. “Shit.” He muttered before going into the living room.
“Here’s some money.” He quickly said, digging up his wallet and taking out some bills. “For if you get hungry or something like that.”
“Oh no, that’s okay, I won’t be long.”
“Take it, please.” Aoi pleaded before thinking of something else. “Don’t go off too far, you still don’t know all the streets and this is not the safest of neighborhoods, you know.” Aoi quickly bit his lip and sighed. “Do you want me to come with you, maybe?”
Uruha chuckled, “No, I’ll be fine. It’s been a very long time since anybody has ever worried about me like that.” He smiled softly before taking the money and going out the door. “I won’t be long I promise, have fun studying.”
Aoi sighed as Uruha walked out the door, a pout forming on his lips. He’d always hated that feeling of worry that accompanied taking care of someone. It seemed to be part of the deal though…
With a defeated sigh he let himself drop on the bed again.
It had been eight days now since he’d found Uruha on the street. Since then they had agreed to just let things be and to just see what would happen. Uruha was reluctant to live off of Aoi, and Aoi didn’t know if he could support both of them on his scholarship. Aoi had suggested taking on a job, and so had Uruha, but they hadn’t really figured that part out yet.
Uruha was still sleeping on the couch and he ate as little as possible, which really bugged Aoi. He assured Uruha that one more sandwich wouldn’t send them into bankruptcy, but Uruha gave him one of those sad looks every time Aoi’d mention it so he let it drop most of the time.
Aoi was now thinking about turning the little storage room he had in the back of the apartment into a room for Uruha. But every time he let himself think about that, he’d think about how absurd it is to let someone live with you that you don’t hardly know. Especially if it’s a fifteen year old boy who ran away from home…
Aoi had asked Uruha about his parents too,… but all he’d found out was that his mother was dead and that Uruha wished his dad was too. If Aoi was to call the police Uruha’d simply run away again.
Aoi got up again and walked towards the storage room next to the bathroom. He opened the door and inspected the room. It wasn’t big, not at all, Aoi wasn’t even sure a bed would fit there. A really, really small one maybe. But there wouldn’t be any room for a desk or something. Aoi sighed deeply, but they couldn’t go on like this either, Uruha couldn’t sleep on the couch forever.
Maybe they should move?
Oh fuck, what was he thinking? Moving for a someone he’d met eight days ago? What was going on? Confusedly, Aoi got into the kitchen, opened a beer and drank it all in one swallow. He would just have to talk to Uruha about it again. They’d work something out... he hoped.
Aoi placed the empty beer bottle in the sink and plopped down on the couch in the living room again. He was immediately greeted by the smell he had come to associate with Uruha.
Uruha always smelled nice, Aoi was never able to say just what that scent was, he just knew that he liked it a lot. Besides on Uruha, the scent was also everywhere in the young boy’s clothes and on everything Uruha touched. Aoi kind of liked that too.
He bit his lip again.
He really did have a thing for the guy.
A crush.
The first time he'd realized this when he had seen Uruha watching TV on the second day he had come to live with Aoi.
Uruha had been wearing one of those ridiculously cute outfits of his and Aoi was smitten.
Uruha had been wearing orange short-shorts, they were really short and with a blanket on Uruha’s lap it seemed as if he was naked beneath the blanket; on top he had a black -too large- top on. Uruha, Aoi had noticed, had the tendency to slouch his shoulders, and because of that a lot of his shirts slip off of his shoulders.
And that. That was the sexiest thing Aoi had ever seen.
It had surprised Aoi how hard he’d fallen in such a short time, it had happened without any real warning too – Aoi felt a little cheated by fate or whatever because of that, he had had absolutely no say in this or whatsoever.
Aoi had been taken aback by his sudden -or maybe not, he was still thinking about that- change of feelings though. There were all kinds of thoughts that kept on running through his head when he was alone… or when he just stared at Uruha. They even kept him awake at night, and with his exams coming up he could definitely miss that though… so he just let it go, going with the flow instead.
“Fuck it.” Aoi muttered before getting up and going to the storage room again, trying to find out if he could put the stuff lying there somewhere else.
When Uruha got back an hour later, a lollipop in his mouth and another one in his hand for Aoi he found the hallway full of stuff. He quickly put the rest of the money away in Aoi’s wallet again before Aoi could catch him doing it, and went to check it out.
“What are you doing?” Uruha asked curiously.
“Uhm… I’m making some room here, maybe you can make this into your room… we can sell some of the stuff and we’ll use that to buy a bed and…”
“Are you serious?” Uruha asked with big eyes
“Of course I’m serious.” Aoi smiled and Uruha immediately flew around his neck.
“Thank you so much! You won’t have any troubles with me. I’ll pay for my own stuff and you don’t have to worry about a thing.” Uruha whispered.
“Well, that’s good because I’m not worried.” Aoi chuckled, closing his arms around Uruha too.
Uruha let go of Aoi and got in the little room. “It’s really nice of you to do this.” He smiled softly. “When I get a job we can go and buy some stuff and then I can paint it too.” Uruha giggled as he let his hands slide over the wall. “If that’s okay by you.”
“Sure.” Aoi said, leaning against the doorway, smiling as he saw the enthusiasm in Uruha’s face. He’d offer Uruha to pay for the paint, but he knew that Uruha wouldn’t like that so he didn’t take his chance and just smiled and watched.
“I’m gonna continue studying.” Aoi said as he checked his watch. He felt pretty happy about this and now he could continue!
“Oh, look what I got you.” Uruha chuckled, taking the lollipop from his pocket and giving it to Aoi. “Sugar is good for…energy and for staying awake and I thought you might like it.” He smiled widely.
“Oh thanks.” Aoi looked at the lollipop a little before taking it and putting it in his own pocket, saving it for later.
“Uhm…” Uruha followed Aoi out of the storage room into his bedroom. “Do you want some help? I mean… I know I can’t really help you with studying… but I could question you or something like that… or cheer you on or anything.” Uruha chuckled with a soft smile.
“Sure…” Aoi shrugged, he could always use some company, and he knew Uruha got a little lonely if he had to sit in the living room all alone.
Uruha plopped down on Aoi’s bed in front of him and bounced up and down for a little, “What do you want me to do?”
“Well, I usually like to study chapter by chapter. Then at the end of the chapters there are questions given by the book itself, you can ask me those if you want to… then you’ve got to check if the answers I give you are the same as what the book says.” Aoi gave Uruha the book. “You can do chapter eight if you want to.”
“Okay.” Uruha attentively read the first question before reading it out loud.
Aoi didn’t have a hard time answering any of the questions because he had been studying that chapter for two hours already. He answered everything without making a single mistake and his heart almost stopped beating as he saw how proud Uruha was.
“You’re so smart.” Uruha said with awe. “You got them all right.”
“I’m not all that smart really, I just studied the chapter.”
“Still.” Uruha said, still looking at the book in his lap. “I would never be able to do anything like that, give me this book and all the hours in the world, I still wouldn’t be able to remember all of that.”
“I’m sure you’re much smarter than you realize.” Aoi said softly, it was difficult to him to talk about stuff people praised him for. Uncomfortably he rubbed Uruha’s arm for a while.
“You did great.” Uruha repeated again. “You deserve a reward! What would you like?”
Aoi smiled uncertainly, “I don’t know, I don’t deserve a reward.”
“Yes you do!” Uruha chirped up, quickly leaning forward and kissing Aoi’s lips.
It had been spur of the moment kind of thing. It felt like it was over and done before Uruha had even leaned forward,… but it still made both of their hearts thump loudly in their chests.
Aoi’s hand went to Uruha’s cheek as he cupped the young boy’s face. He couldn’t even think anymore as he pushed his lips against Uruha’s for the second time.
Uruha pulled back a little as Aoi let go of him again, he looked at Aoi with surprise in his wide eyes. He quickly closed them when Aoi kissed him again though. The kiss was a little deeper this time. Aoi took Uruha’s bottom lip between his lips and softly sucking at it. Uruha gasped slightly, giving Aoi the chance to slip his tongue in Uruha’s mouth.
He kissed Uruha soft and passionate, letting his tongue explore the inside of the blonde boy’s mouth. Uruha seemed content to let Aoi do his thing while he just moaned softly and let his tongue slide over Aoi’s.
Aoi pulled back and kissed Uruha’s nose.
“That was my first kiss.” Uruha suddenly said, his eyes were still closed and he wasn’t really sure he was gonna open them again… had he really just said that?
“Do you regret it?” Aoi asked softly.
Uruha shook his head, a small smile on his lips.
